225,179,981,368,525 = mp3 (5mb)

you can do the math on the time it will take to play all the files back to back lol

but here is mp3 at 4mins

20,147,359 lifetime (85 yr par)

i think if the dinosaur had pc the mp3 would be just done now lol

After 'Yottabyte', you get 'Brontobyte' and then 'Geopbyte'. WOW!!!!!

MySQL 6.0 'Falcon' engine can handle up-to 512 ZB...

You're all right - that is a lot!

BUT - is it "enough" ?

Please tell me that these Ranges are Final means(YB Yottabyte 1024 ZB, 1,048,576 EB, 1,073,741,824 PB, 1,099,511,627,776 TB, 1,125,899,906,842,624 GB, 1,152,921,504,606,846,976 MB, 1,180,591,620,717,411,303,424 KB 1,208,925,819,614,629,174,706,176 Bytes and 9,671,406,556,917,033,397,649,408 bits

or in Future they can increase ?

is it pronounced like; Eye Owe ta Byte?

Thanks

Gb Gigabit 1 million bits

- This is wrong !!!!!
1Gb is 1 Billion bits

suresh you are correct !!! no body noticed that.

.591 mb

their is one more "vaitabyte"
their is only one in japan and scientist are searching on it.

So last year there were already 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 bytes stored on earth.. crazy stuff

Oh I ignored the name of the measures higher than Terabyte. It will be very useful for some computer engineers. In the future, probably will be the most common to have a flash drive of various yottabytes.

Anonymous said...

WTH! so what has ZB and YB? That's like mega amounts of space!

Anonymous said...

I reckon youtube has a YB of space on their webservers

Anonymous said...

I found this very interesting. I used this to find out about how computer storage works too :) http://www.usingcomputers.co.uk/articles/Computer_Storage_Sizes_Explained.php

thats definitely enough bytes for robots to take over the world

Anonymous said...

How many years would it take to download a Yottabyte at 2 MB / second?

Over 18 billion years. What a fucking retarded measurement. Highly unnecessary.

Steve Ashby :: Blog said...

YEAH!!! that's a lot of space... YB: WOWWW!!!

Arthur Garden said...

We may need to come up with another size after YB soon. The internet is set to hit 1Zb of annual data transfer by 2016. If the current rate of exponential expansion continues, then the data transfer over the internet will exceed the Yb classification by 2040. I think we are going to have to seriosly look at some system upgrades!

B.Turner said...

Arthur,

Most systems will not get you much past PB anyway. With distributed systems, however, the rate can far exceed the YB mark without exceeding any one system.

Still, I wouldn't mind having a YB+ disk subsystem :)

I think it is interesting that there are 'only' 1 googol (10 to the 100th power, or 1 with 100 zeros) atoms in the universe, according to some scientist somewhere.

Anonymous said...

Is it so?

Hi guys there is some more information for you

1 Bit = Binary Digit
8 Bits = 1 Byte
1024 Bytes = 1 KB (Kilo Byte)
1024 KB = 1 MB (Mega Byte)
1024 MB = 1 GB(Giga Byte)
