225,179,981,368,525 = mp3 (5mb)

you can do the math on the time it will take to play all the files back to back lol

but here is mp3 at 4mins

20,147,359 lifetime (85 yr par)

i think if the dinosaur had pc the mp3 would be just done now lol

After 'Yottabyte', you get 'Brontobyte' and then 'Geopbyte'. WOW!!!!!

MySQL 6.0 'Falcon' engine can handle up-to 512 ZB...

You're all right - that is a lot!

BUT - is it "enough" ?

How is Yottabyte Pronounced.

is it pronounced like; Eye Owe ta Byte?

Thanks

So last year there were already 1 000 000 000 000 000 000 000 bytes stored on earth.. crazy stuff

Oh I ignored the name of the measures higher than Terabyte. It will be very useful for some computer engineers. In the future, probably will be the most common to have a flash drive of various yottabytes.

Anonymous said...

WTH! so what has ZB and YB? That's like mega amounts of space!

Anonymous said...

I reckon youtube has a YB of space on their webservers

I found this very interesting. I used this to find out about how computer storage works too :) http://www.usingcomputers.co.uk/articles/Computer_Storage_Sizes_Explained.php

YEAH!!! that's a lot of space... YB: WOWWW!!!

Arthur Garden said...

We may need to come up with another size after YB soon. The internet is set to hit 1Zb of annual data transfer by 2016. If the current rate of exponential expansion continues, then the data transfer over the internet will exceed the Yb classification by 2040. I think we are going to have to seriosly look at some system upgrades!

B.Turner said...

Arthur,

Most systems will not get you much past PB anyway. With distributed systems, however, the rate can far exceed the YB mark without exceeding any one system.

Still, I wouldn't mind having a YB+ disk subsystem :)

I think it is interesting that there are 'only' 1 googol (10 to the 100th power, or 1 with 100 zeros) atoms in the universe, according to some scientist somewhere.

one could easily compare this numbering system to how big the universe is.Our Brains can only fathom so many numbers then it is left hanging,looping,infinity..I hope one day to be able to see what if any can hold such a vast numbers. The universe is the only known creation where these numbers could possibly use such great numbers I would think..Even all the grains of sands in all the deserts and beaches on earth surely is still a small number compared to the giants that exist in the numbering system.Makes you wonder..why we as small numbers exist.

Unknown said...

Ikr it's necessary up to like exabyte then there's no point. Plus after yottabytes, there's like 50 that follow it, infinitybyte being the largest. It would take 84 vigintillion years to download an infinitybyte. So unnecessary... ☹

Unknown said...

Actually I recounted and got like 84 vigintillion to the 100000000000000th power. I'm pretty sure that's over a googol. So the universe would end before the thing is 10% done downloading. Insane.
